We are delighted to invite you to a videoconference “Unleashing the Power of Designathons in Health and Health Research” on Wednesday, 12 July at 8am-9am ET. Informed by design thinking, a designathon is a three-stage activity that includes preparation, an intensive period of collaborative work, and follow-up activities. The purpose of this conference is to introduce designathons for health, provide practical advice on organizing designathons for health, and recommendations about monitoring and evaluation of designathons.

Designathons have emerged as powerful tools to drive innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving in health. This complements a participatory designathon organized as part of the July 2023 STI & HIV World Congress (details here).

During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to:
  1. Gain a comprehensive understanding of designathons and their applications in healthcare and health research.
  2. Learn practical tips and strategies for organizing and participating in designathons.
  3. Network with like-minded professionals, fostering collaborations and sharing insights to drive future advancements in healthcare.
  4. Explore case studies and success stories of designathons that have made significant contributions to health and research initiatives.
This workshop is co-organized by HOPE (Health Organization for Promoting Excellence), SESH (Social Entrepreneurship to Spur Health), and SIHI (Social Innovation in Health Initiative).
